Kal Suurkask

 

Kal Suurkask is the Founder and Managing Partner of 4o7 Ventures, a private investment firm focused on technology, real estate, and hospitality. His career spans three decades and three continents: co-founding and operating a major North American solar energy company through a decade-long build and successful exit; serving as COO and Interim CEO of nChain, a London-based IP technology company; and returning to Canada as Chief Commercial Officer of TAAL Distributed Information Technologies, a publicly listed enterprise data business.

 

In Victoria, Kal founded 4o7 Events — a waterfront venue that became a fixture of the city’s community calendar — and Tug Eatery, opened during COVID-19 and subsequently sold successfully. He owns commercial real estate across Victoria and other markets and holds active investments in AI, smart home technology, and food and beverage innovation.

 

An Action Canada Fellow and former Communications Advisor to the Prime Minister of Canada, Kal brings both operational depth and policy fluency to his work as an investor and board advisor. He is based in Sidney, British Columbia.
